   Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd., was born in 1980 as an effort to promote wildlife destinations in Karnataka. Today with 15 properties, JLR is the leading chain of resorts offering wildlife, eco and adventure tourism in India giving visitors an unique and natural experience.

Our Kabini River Lodge, Karapura was rated by Tatler’s Travel Guide as one of the top wildlife resorts in the world (1995) and CNBC AWAAZ as site with best Eco-tourism practices (2008). JLR was also named “The Best Eco-Tourism Organisation” by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India (1997-98). Government of Karnataka appreciated the outstanding performance of the Jungle Lodges & Resorts and in recognition of the Performance Excellence, the Government of Karnataka has adjudged JLR as the Best performing State Public sector Enterprise and have awarded the “Chief Minister’s Rathna Award” for the year 2009-10"

Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd., was formed in the year 1980 as a private Limited Company in the joint sector between the Government of Karnataka and M/s. Tiger Tops (I) Pvt. Ltd.,. M/s Tiger Tops withdrew their participation completely in the year 1987 by selling their entire shares to the Government of Karnataka.  Since then, JLR is fully owned by the Government of Karnataka, the present share capital of the company is 91.75 lakhs. with the management control vested with private partner.  

Our objective

   The Company promotes Eco-tourism, wildlife tourism, adventure tourism and various outdoor activities like trekking, camping, white water rafting, fishing etc., that are non consumptive components of eco-tourism and in general help in environment conservation.

  Spread over Karnataka, Jungle Lodges & Resorts Ltd., operates 15 resorts. Accommodations here vary from tents to rooms to independent cottages. Besides, there are 4 resorts operated on management contract.

1. OM Beach Resort, Gokarna, Kumta, Uttara Kannada District from May 2004 by M/s.Kairali Ayurvedic Health Resorts Pvt Ltd., - 8 years (upto 2011). 
2. Estuary View Resort, Sadashivghad, Karwar from May 2004 M/s. Kairali Ayurvedic Health Resorts Pvt Ltd., - 20 years. 
3. Hotel Metropole, Mysore from May 2004 by M/s. Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd., - 15 years. 
4. Hotel Krishnaraja Sagar, Brindavan Gardens, Mysore from 31^st March 2006 by M/s. Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd., - 15 years.
